In this tutorial, you will experience the true power and magic of the Dubbr ✨
What do you do if you don't have a finished audiotrack?
Fiddle around with 100s of different and expensive tools that make your life more difficult?
No... You can easily do this within the dubbr!
The first steps are similar to the previous tutorial:
1. Go to your Archive, select the video for which you want to add a new audio track and click "Edit".
2. Click on the small globe-with-plus-symbol icon in the dubbr now.
3. Select the language you'll be working with and go to the corresponding tab.
4. Create segments.
- To start recording your new audio-tracks we recommend that you split your video into several small segments (consisting of 3-5 seconds blocks). You will see “View,” “Import/Export,” and “Tools” options. In the “View” row, click the second icon. This will open the “Timeline”.
- To add a new segment, click on the Plus icon in the Tools row.
- Once you have done this you will have a new segment for each audio track
- You can adjust the length of each segment individually, you will notice that the length remains the same in every language (this is a prerequisite for dubbing). Now you can create smaller segments with a few seconds each to make your recording easier.
5. Adding text
After you have created the first few segments, you can insert text in each segment in the field which says “Add text…” This is located just above the timestamp, directly above the timeline.
6. Creating translations
If you have filled out all the segments with text for one language, you can click on the DUB icon (in the “View” row, the 3rd icon which looks like a square around the letters “DUB”) to make the translation for other audio tracks easier.
7. Once your segments and transcript are ready, we can get to the most important part... recording!
Click on the microphone icon in the “View" row and your segments will be displayed in the order you created them.
Now you will experience the miracle... click on your first segment and be sure to select your mic or primary recording device.
Ready to record? Simply click on the green mic and start recording your first segment - directly within the Dubbr!
By clicking this button you can listen and review your created recording. What if you don't like it? No problem - one click on the trash bin and the recording will be blown into outer space. Try it as often as you like, until you are completely satisfied with the results!
And don't worry if it doesn't work out the first time. Thanks to the interactive function you can easily adjust your audio track. So, if for example, you start too late, you can just move the start and stop points to the right spot.
You can even add a fade-out at the end, (and yes, you're not dreaming, everything's possible without any additional software, all in one tab).
Once you’re satisfied with the results, click on the little circle-arrow button at the top right, to move on to your next segment. Follow the same steps until you are done recording for each segment.
8. Once you are completely satisfied with the audio segment recordings, click on the 4th icon in the “Import/Export” row (it looks like film-strip with a right arrow) to publish your new audio-track and add it as a completed asset for your video.
9. Remember to check the boxes for the subtitles and audio tracks you want to be live on your video. If your work is incomplete, you may also choose to keep it unchecked until a future date.
If you like you can even add Ducking here and then click on Save selected tracks.
🎉 Congratulations! Your new audio track will now be processed and will appear in your video in a few minutes
